Catching Up!

Has there ever been a time when you have been torn between enjoying being in the moment or being able to write down and remember all you are enjoying?

It has been a long few months (well to tell you the truth it has been a long year!) and I am not sure how I have made it through, but I am sure hoping these next few months give me a few more minutes so I can try and remember and write down all I have been enjoying!

Happy Birthday Treydon!

I cannot believe I gave birth to my first boy eight years ago!  Time has flown by and I catch myself remembering when Treydon was little and comparing it to each baby as they come along (probably because I only had one baby to share the memories with back then!).

Treydon has been such a blessing to our family.  He has truly been an amazing brother and son. I couldn't have asked for better!

He loves to talk to me about things he is thinking (which I cherish because I know this won't last).

He helps out when asked.

He loves to play playstation and games on my phone. 

He is a good natured son of our Heavenly Father and I love this about him.

For Treydon's party this year we had his soccer team friends over and did "glow-in-the-dark hide and seek" in the backyard.  We did it on Martin Luther King, jr. day since the kids had the day off of school.  Unfortunately it was a little cold, but the kids still had fun.  We ended up with lots of left over icecream since we served hot chocolate with our birthday brownies, as per Treydon's request!

Christmas 2011 style

Christmas went by fast here at our house.  December was crazy with Quin working a crazy schedule at the hospital and the kids with school parties and being out of school for two weeks.

WE HAD FUN THOUGH . . .

 Gingerbread trains - Treydon did a trainwreck.  Ashelyn and I decorated ours with lots of candy.  Teagan and daddy decorated theirs BYU style.

Since Quin was gone a lot this Christmas (we only got him Christmas Eve and Christmas Day - which was our present for sure!) the kids and I had many sleepovers that involved candy and laughter under the tree until WAY TOO LATE!  (But I love to make memories!)

I am glad (well I wasn't at the time!) the gardeners left these leaves in our backyard for two weeks so we had something to do over Christmas break!  Lol!

Treydon has been with these boys on the same team for three years now! 

It has been an amazing experience for Treydon and our family to be a part of this group.

It was the best year these boys have ever had -

 making it to the championship

and WINNING!

These boys have transformed in so many ways. 

It was bittersweet to have the season end - knowing they wouldn't be able to play together again next year.  But we had amazing experiences!

Treydon has grown so much and I have seen him learn to work together with his team as they became a family.

but I sincerely enjoyed watching these boys play.

It was so sad to leave all the fun in Utah behind - shopping, good food, my babysitters, cousins, playing, snow (which never showed while we were there!), and much more!
