First Day of School

It's back!

School has started!

 

Treydon is in 3rd grade this year.  His teacher, Ms. Woo, is teaching a 3rd/4th grade combo class.  Treydon is excited because he says this teacher makes paper mache projects at the end of the year.  Let's hope he enjoys all the rest too!

 

Ashelyn is in 1st grade this year.  Her teacher, Mrs. Hunter, is a favorite so she is set.  I just hope she doesn't get in too much trouble with all her friends in the same class!

 

It was bitter sweet sending the older two back to school.  We had so much fun over the summer.  Teagan and Coleston have found their comrads are gone all day so now they just gang up on me.  Squirt bottles are their favorites right now!

Wild Water

We always head to Wild Water once a Summer.

But once is all I need!

The older kids were off riding rides with their friends from the moment we got there, so I got zero pictures of them.

I rode more rides this year than I have ever dared ride,

and it was FUN!

We ended the night with pizza and more swimming with our friends The van Beevers.

Ashelyn's 6th Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASHELYN!!!

I cannot believe my girl turned 6 today!

 We got to open presents before daddy went to work today.

Then we had roll-up pancakes for breakfast.

Chuck E Cheese as the mid-morning entertainment.

A playdate with her friend Jade.

And dinner at ChickfilA.

It ended with a swimdate at her friend Jade's house.

I am not sure how much more she could have fit in there!!!

 We had relay races that cooled us down

 Competitions that involved ice and water

The running never stopped

 Sponge fights to keep us hydrated

And a whole lot of smiles!

 

Ashelyn wanted a water themed party complete with water games, snow cones, a treasure hunt, and brownies with icecream!

Celebrating 24th of July

 The 24th of July festivities that our stake hosts every year is a kids dream.

As I ate breakfast I pondered on the idea of the pioneers watching us from above and I wondered if they would be celebrating the same way. 

I mean  . . . do you really think they had water slides and dunk tanks and cotton candy and snow cones to celebrate as they walked in to the Salt Lake Valley!?!

I DON'T THINK SO!

But then I just hoped they realized we were celebrating with them and not for them!

Mission Beach 7/11/12

When in San Diego  . . . . . .

you gotta hit up the beach for some fun!

The beginning of what became . . .

a HUGE, SEAWEED REINFORCED SAND CASTLE (made by the MEN).  Connor was perched there for a long time being "king of the castle" and "protector" while watching the other boys body board.

We walked away five hours later with sand in our ears and mild sunburns,

which is pretty good for us!!!

Seaworld 7/10/12

This was the first time the kids have been to SEAWORLD (that they can remember!).

We watched every single show we could possibly pack in.

Blue Horizons - my personal favorite! I mean who doesn't love a show with dolphins, birds, and people dancing from rope! Coleston just pointed the whole time.  Teagan kept saying Oh! and Look!. Treydon and Ashelyn loved showing Teagan and Coleston where the animals were.  The splashing at the end was everyone's favorite.

Sea Lions Live - sea lions and otters dancing to popular songs made Coleston and Teagan stand up and dance.

We also go to watch Circ de la Mar.  The kids didn't quite get this show but people falling off trampolines caught their attention.
Teagan enjoyed the Animal Show.  He kept asking where all the animals were going.  Hah!

 

We rode rides and ate "Seaworld food" and filled our souvenier refill drinks as much as our tummies could handle.

It was a good day!



San Diego Trip 7/5 - 7/12

Who wouldn't want to escape the heat of 100+ degrees in Fresno and enjoy 70+ degrees in San Diego!?!

 

We enjoyed staying at Quin's brothers' house . . .

 playing with the chickens.  Yes they have chickens!

This was definitely one of our more relaxing vacations since we just made ourselves at home and enjoyed the luxuries of Quin's brothers' home.  Thanks to them!
