Christmas 2011 style

Christmas went by fast here at our house.  December was crazy with Quin working a crazy schedule at the hospital and the kids with school parties and being out of school for two weeks.

WE HAD FUN THOUGH . . .

Teagan eating lots of chocolate from the hot chocolate stand at our Ward Christmas Party (that I was in charge of).
Treydon and Ashelyn were wisemen in the play at our Ward Christmas Party
Gingerbread trains - Treydon did a trainwreck.  Ashelyn and I decorated ours with lots of candy.  Teagan and daddy decorated theirs BYU style.
Christmas morning in their Christmas jammies
Since Quin was gone a lot this Christmas (we only got him Christmas Eve and Christmas Day - which was our present for sure!) the kids and I had many sleepovers that involved candy and laughter under the tree until WAY TOO LATE!  (But I love to make memories!)

Leaves in my hair!

Can you believe they threw leaves in my hair!?!

NAUGHTY MONKEYS!

I am glad (well I wasn't at the time!) the gardeners left these leaves in our backyard for two weeks so we had something to do over Christmas break!  Lol!

Green Machine

Treydon has been with these boys on the same team for three years now!
It has been an amazing experience for Treydon and our family to be a part of this group.
It was the best year these boys have ever had -
 making it to the championship
and WINNING!

These boys have transformed in so many ways.
It was bittersweet to have the season end - knowing they wouldn't be able to play together again next year.  But we had amazing experiences!

Treydon has grown so much and I have seen him learn to work together with his team as they became a family.
The Green Machine Family

I am not the biggest sports fan,
but I sincerely enjoyed watching these boys play.
Thanks to all the boys for turning over a new leaf in my book!!!

Thanksgiving break in UTAH!

We headed to Utah for Thanksgiving Break and
Oh WOW
We Had Fun!

 At a BYU basketball game
(minus Treydon who had to sit with the other Young family boy cousins)

Played football in the Mitchell family front yard
 Iceskating with the Mitchell's
Teagan iceskating with Camille and Jake
Teagan with his iceskating gear on
Ashelyn with her iceskating gear on.  She went all by herself!
Teagan, Quin, Treydon, Nick at iceskating rink
Quin and Gpa Mitchell with the boys
Brandon and Ashelyn were best buddies
After opening Aunt Brittany's sweet ;) presents at Mitchell's

It was so sad to leave all the fun in Utah behind - shopping, good food, my babysitters, cousins, playing, snow (which never showed while we were there!), and much more!

Orange Cheetahs

Ashelyn was AWESOME in soccer this year!
She has really grown, learning how to dribble the ball and making awesome passes and getting the ball in the goal.

Ashelyn with Coach Olson - a family friend
strutting her stuff - smile and all (the smile never left her face while she was playing!)
Handling the ball - you go girl!

She said she got "like 50" goals this year.  Treydon clarified and said around 20 goals (and he would know because he is getting to be quite the competitive boy!).  Either way, she had A LOT OF GOALS!  Her team went undefeated.

Pismo Beach 8/11/11

Who wouldn't enjoy a weekend in Pismo!?!

We were so excited to go we didn't even look at our route until we were half way there (fyi: don't always trust your phones' GPS is giving you the best route), and ended up taking some backroads and we all got sick.  Teagan threw up all over a Nike outlet's floor (abruptly ending our shopping trip ten minutes after it started) and after cleaning up Trey and Ashie sat on the hotel bed claiming sick before falling asleep in the hotel room around 7:00 pm. . . . Not the best day ever.

But going to Pismo the next day definitely made up for it.  It was overcast and perfect weather for a day on the beach!

At the pier

 Lunch break

The water was just a TINY bit cold!

 Sand crabs
 A live sand dollar

Digging (some of us dig with our hands, Teagan likes to use his head!)

Ashelyn's 5th Birthday 7/30/11

Ashelyn's birthday always seems to come and go so fast since it is Summer!  She was so excited to turn 5!  Daddy took her and her brothers camping the night before and then they showed up birthday morning about five minutes before her birthday party started!

Here are the contents of:  A Rainbow Unicorn Pillow Pet Birthday Party

Ashelyn and I made these cute party favors - rainbow colored and sparkly playdough

 Party games

 Found the Treasure Chest

 Ashelyn's Rainbow Cake

She got her Unicorn pillow pet!

This girl has been such a blessing in our families' lives!  She is such a little mother to all of us and she definitely knows how to have fun and remind us who she is.  I love her sweet spirit and her ambitions!

Love you Ashelyn!

Conference

Wasn't General Conference just amazing!  (yes, I am a little late in posting this!)

As we were listening and QUIETLY playing in front of the t.v. all of a sudden Teagan ran to his room.  He came running out very excited and holding his scriptures saying "Skippers!"  "Skippers!"

It then dawned on me that he heard one of the speakers say scriptures and he understood!

SUCH A GOOD BOY!

Love and Willis

Now that I am at home in the afternoons with these two  . . .
they get my full undivided attention!

They are going to be the bestest buds and mischief makers here really soon:)

Coleston is my Love baby.  He gives the best hugs any of my babies ever gave.  He actually lets me cuddle him.  He is such a fun baby and just enjoys watching the world move around him.

Teagan is talking so much.  I call him Willis because he just talks and talks in his one-year-old lingo and it reminds of a sentence in one of the kids favorite songs that says:  "What you talkin bout Willis?"

School Started!

School started yesterday!
Treydon, Teagan, and Ashelyn
Tredyon was a little nervous about school starting this time.  I love how sad he looks when he has a tear in his eye and he is telling me he doesn't know if he can go to second grade because he forgot how to spell all of his words! Giving him a hug was the best I could do besides laugh, because he is a good student and he knows how to spell all his words!  Just imagine my face as I picked him up from school and he told me it was a good first day and he does know how to spell!  Lol (Maybe I should have been more diligent about reading during the summer :))  Speaking of being smart, Treydon picked out a map of the United States shirt for his first day of school.  I had to tease him that maybe he was going a little too far in trying to be the teachers pet!  He looked at me funny and asked why.  I mean who really wears a United States shirt on his first day of school especially when I got him some of his favorite skater shirts from Tillies?!  Only my Treydon whom I sincerely enjoy having around!

Ashelyn was really excited for school to start.  She got knew light up sparkle shoes, sparkle shirts, sparkle backpack (If you can't tell she likes sparkles!).  She has Treydon's Kindergarten teacher and that made her excited too.  She really likes Mrs. Nolte.  I actually had to use school as bribery for her to get ready yesterday or she wouldn't be going to school!  Today she asked me as we were headed to school if I could just drop her off!  Oh boy!  She is growing up way too fast and I can't enjoy her enough!

San Diego! San Diego!

I recently told Quin I wouldn't mind eventually ending up and staying in San Diego.  I seriously love it down there.  Maybe its because of the beautiful ocean, or the beautiful weather, or the beautiful family members we have down there!

My family and I met up down at my sister Kirstin's place in San Diego July 10 - 15.  Can I just tell you that there is nothing better than seeing my family and then letting them play with my kids while I relax :)  I drove 5.5 hrs there all by myself with four kids (two being babies) and it was totally worth it!

We did lots of fun things . . .

 went on walks
