COUSINS

Quins side of the family was all in town this week so we got the cousins together to get some pictures. Here is the result. They all got to dress in whatever they wanted. It was quite cute.
There are 18 of them!

Cracker Jacks and a Boogy Man 7/10/08

A new park opened in February at the top of our street. So we hike up the hill whenever we can and enjoy a little free time. Quin had bought some Cracker Jacks for the kids yesterday, but never gave it to them. So I took the treat up to the park because we ALWAYS have a treat at the park. I was so excited to see their faces. We love popcorn, especially with caramel on it. But, by the end of the box Treydon was more interested in the prize and Ashelyn dumped out the box onto the wood chips (or pork chops to Treydon). So I would like to say my children really enjoyed this childhood treat that Quin and I like, but they could have cared less. Maybe it didn't have enough sugar!!!

The kids made up this game at the park. Trey and Ashie call me boogie man and they have to try and get across from one play set to the other without getting touched by me or they are it (its like a twisted version of tag). But since they can't quite get across because "mommy is too fast" they feed me fake food. They get it from the play set they stand on. You can kind of see the food in the background of this picture. I love this game because they learn their fruits and veggies while I get fed (with the satisfaction that my kids are learning)!

Raspberries 7/9/08

Quin's parents have raspberries growing in their garden. I had picked some and put them in a cup. Next thing I know Ashelyn comes running by me with a raspberry mustache!

She kept running and wouldn't let me take her picture. Can you tell!!!

She has such a mind of her own! She was smiling the whole time I had the camera but wouldn't cooperate.
I LOVE SUMMER!

Happy 4th of July!

Here are my prized possessions. I really don't know what my life would be like without them.

I asked Ashelyn to say cheese, and she did! I have always been able to get a good smile out of her, but now its definitely forced. She is talking out of control right now. Three and four word sentences and it doesn't stop.

Trey has been such a good natured kid. He is very patient also. This is the sixth picture I took and its good! He has been an active kid, always dressing himself in sports clothing, and never letting me rest (if I do a ball is thrown in my hand that is supposed to be chucked at a bat).

Ashelyn and her cousin Wyatt were covering their ears during some sirens. They always copy what each other does. It is so cute! They are six months apart, and loving their summer together.

We love holidays! Any reason I can get to have family around is reason for me to celebrate. We went to a parade today and it was "perfect parade" weather. We had so much fun seeing motorcycles, horses (he he's), and clowns.

Treydon's Coachpitch Days June 2008

Trey was so excited to play coach pitch. He played with the six and seven year olds, 1) because he wanted to play with his cousin Mckoy 2) because he says he is way too advanced to play t-ball. Every time he was up to bat, he would hit the ball and then head for each base, making sure he slid into each base. He cracks me up. If he didn't have grass stains on his "baseball pants" then we would have to practice after the game until he could manage a "grass stain slide". I don't think I have ever seen a baseball player with a perma-grin, but Trey pulled it off. He is getting so big.
This is Trey (on the left) and his cousin Mckoy (on the right) after they "won all their games this season".
After their last game they rode home in my car. The whole time they complimented each other, "you were the best ball hitter" and "you did so good" and even "I want to play on your team again". The last comment was my favorite, because they sometimes don't always get along with each other.
